Ghalib Khan

Ghalib Khan
The son and successor of Malik Qabul Qur'an-khwan, he was with Prince Muhammad in his tussle with Abu Bakr for the throne after Firuz Shah Tughlaq's death in 1388. He was ex-iled by Ghiyas al-Din Tughlaq Shah II (Firuz Shah Tughlaq's im-mediate successor), which deprived him of the iqta' at Samana. But the amiran-i sada of the area killed Tughlaq Shah's nominee and re-stored Ghalib Khan in 1389. In 1397, Ghalib Khan was attacked in Samana by Sarang Khan, the governor of Dipalpur for Mahmud Shah (1394-1412), then controlling Delhi and Siri. He appealed to Tattar Khan, a supporter of Nusrat Shah at Firuzabad, who came and drove Sarang back to Multan. The subsequent career of Ghalib Khan is lost in obscurity.
